The judges did not have an easy time.
It’s always amazing when to see things never done at the park before get busted out at the contest. The best part is watching new younger guys come out of no where while the older guys I’ve skated with and watch grow up, kill it. The contests get better and better every year. Now just imagine if we had a concrete/plaza style park………
Corner Brook definitely needs a new skatepark.
Huge thanks to all the companies/people who helped out like Supra Distribution, Mehrathon, S&J Sales, Fist Fulla Fives, J.Osmond Design, Rips Chips, Life in Color, Geoff Park, Geoff Byrne, RoNiN Photo, Jordan Bennett, Dean Christopher, Dru Kennedy, Karl Windle for the flatbar, Josh Keough for the box, and anyone else I may have forgotten.
Thanks to all the parents/spectators/competitors. It’s great to see everyone come out and support events like these.
Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday to support the local skateboard scene. It was a lot of fun for everyone involved. Full results, pictures, and details to come later today. Big thanks to all the sponsors, judges, and helpers.
Some of the local skateboarders here in Corner Brook doing what they do. This is definitely not the best but just a little edit. We hope you like it.
Here’s the third commercial for our collaboration with J. Osmond Design. You can check out his new website here.

We’ve got a great range of Sector 9 longboards in the shop. Here’s one that’s been turning some heads recently.
The Sector 9 Mo’sake Complete
Part of the Carving Series by Sector 9, the Mo’Sake complete is perfect for both beginners or seasoned slashers. From the Sector 9 website:
Pressed in the infamous taco mold out of maple, the Mo’Sake is a medium length pintail great for giant slalom type riding down hills, sliding or easy all around town cruising.
Sideways is pleased to present GO SKATEBOARDING DAY 2010 at the Corner Brook Skatepark. Starting at 5:30p.m. we’ll be having some small fun contests for anyone who wants to participate along with a BBQ hosted by the crew from CYN (Community Youth Network) with proceeds going to the skatepark. Drop down for a push, something to eat, or just watch some great skateboarding go down. Check the Facebook page for more details.
NL Snowboard is holding the first of two provincial contests this weekend. The contest is sure to be a great event with competitors coming from across the island. We’re very excited to be sponsoring this event along with the crew from George’s Ski World.
The park will be in the best possible shape thanks to Marble and the Terrain Park Staff. So far this year they have kept the park and it’s features in amazing shape even with the difficult weather we’ve been having.
Get up there and get some runs dialed, the competition is going to be FIERCE.
